Tips for reminder texts that get replies
- Ask for one-letter replies. “Reply C to confirm” is easier than asking clients to call back.
- Send two reminders. A day ahead gives time to reschedule; a couple of hours ahead catches people who forgot. See when to send appointment reminders.
- Stop once they confirm. Clients who already said yes don't need another text. NoShow AI skips the rest automatically.
- Respect quiet hours. No texts late at night or early in the morning, in the client's time zone.
Common questions
What should an appointment reminder text say?
Your business name, the client’s first name, the day and time, and a simple way to reply (for example C to confirm or R to reschedule). End with opt-out wording such as “Reply STOP to opt out.”
How long should a reminder text be?
Under 160 characters fits in a single text on every phone. Longer messages still arrive, but are split into parts and count as more than one text on most plans.
Should I include “Reply STOP to opt out”?
Yes. Carriers expect business texts to identify the sender and explain how to opt out, and honoring STOP replies is part of the rules for business texting in the US.
Can clients reply CANCEL to cancel?
Avoid asking for it. CANCEL is a standard opt-out keyword, like STOP, so a client who replies CANCEL is unsubscribed from your texts. Ask clients to reply R to reschedule, and take cancellations by phone.
Can I send these templates automatically?
Yes. NoShow AI sends reminders like these from your Google Calendar, fills in each client’s name and time, and collects their C or R replies. Pick a ready-made message or write your own.
